Beginnings
[20:45] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) silently slides into the room, immediately going to the holoprojector and pulling up the Csilla system to study its panets, its stars, etc
[20:45] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus): planets*))
.
[20:55] Nicci Sularen picks her helmet up off the table, glancing at the boy looking at the map, "Looking for something?"
[20:57] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) , not looking away from the map, Arman shook his head "no, ma'am...just....learning." he said "didn't get the chance to yesterday with all the running around."
[21:00] Nicci Sularen yawned a bit. She was going to catch a ship to Bakura, but suddenly felt like sinking in the chair, so she did so, brushing her crimson hair out of her face and putting her feet up on the table as she looked at the map from across the room, "Learning planets?" she asked.
[21:02] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) "sorta...ever since I was a little kid, I always found a certain Admiral fascinating, his name was Thrawn...I've studied him...well...he's been like a companion throughout when I was in Kyr'tsad camps, when I as growing up...I thought he was so cool...so I wanted to learn more about his home, about the Csilla system"
[21:04] Nicci Sularen looked like she hadn't slept in days, and rested her head against the cushioned backing of the chair, nodding even though the boy wasn't looking at her, "I see. I have not really been too many places in the galaxy. Once I get the credits to buy my own ship I plan on correcting that.". Her voice did not carry its usual harshness, and she found herself looking at the map now as well.
[21:06] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) smiled "I usually go between here and Bakura...with Grisbuir of course....I don't...well......I can't fly yet." he admitted sheepishly. "though it sounds like it's fun."
[21:08] Nicci Sularen shrugged, "Eh, I learend to fly on the sith vessel I stole to escape Kuat. Then...I crashed it on Dxun. Eh, so I guess I didn't really learn to fly it..." she smirked.
[21:10] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) chuckles "you learned to fall with style, then?" he teased, finally turning around to face her.
[21:11] Nicci Sularen shrugged again, "Well they say any landing you walk away from is a good one right?"
[21:12] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) smirks "not for the poor wildlife you landed on" he chuckled "granted, they've probably killed enough of us to deserve a few of them being crushed."
[21:14] Nicci Sularen yawned once more, "Eh, yeah poor wildlife. Maybe they cushioned the blow, really dunno. Was just glad I was alive after that."
[21:15] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) nods and stifles his own yawn "tired?" he asked simply, failing at stifling the yawn
[21:16] Tyro Dreamscape entered draw distance (50.69 m).
[21:18] Nicci Sularen nodded, "Yeah. But as always I cannot sleep," she replied.
[21:18] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) frowns "what all have you tried to help you fall asleep?"
[21:19] Nicci Sularen just blinked at him, "Closing my eyes and getting in bed?" she chuckled. She didn't know of much else.
[21:19] Door whispers: Security Check Clear
[21:20] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) sits in a chair and sighs "well...you could try counting jumping Cannok...an old friend taught me that...um....there's warm milk....lotsa things."
[21:21] Alex Sharp walks into the building carrying a heavy sack of what seems to be food, which he sets on the table and starts to open up, not paying much mind to the others in the room.
[21:25] Nicci Sularen raised an eyebrow. Jumping Cannok? Was he serious. Her eyes shifted to the other who entered the enclave, then back to Arman, "warm milk sounds disgusting." she answered flatly.
[21:27] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) shrugs "never had it, it does sound disgusting...of course there's hypnosis...but I'd be careful of that."
[21:28] Alex Sharp interjects to the conversation without actually looking up. "Warm milk is disgusting, depending on what it comes from. But then you don't want to think about what most milk comes from..." he trails off, looking up towards the two and glancing between them. "Anyone want crackers? I bought two cases of this.... this... I don't even know, like wafers? Is it even capable of being called a cracker? Hm."
[21:30] Nicci Sularen shook her head. "I honestly don't really want to fall asleep. Every few days I pass out from exhaustion. When I do that, I don't have dreams. And that suits me just fine." she replied to the sleep nonsense, some of the harshness returning to her tone. She looked at the man offering crackers, and cringed, "No thanks, I tend to only eat meat. Who are you anyway?" she asked.
[21:32] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) nodded silently before standing up "on that note...as much as I appreciate the offer, I have to get going..gotta meet Grisbuir about some coronation.."
[21:35] Alex Sharp holds up what looks to be a paper-thin wafer of white, about two inches across and not very edible-looking. He makes a small sound of disgust and drops it back into the small box it had come in, sealing it up. "I'll never get used to this kind of food," he mutters, then nods towards Arman, who he had seen once before. In a fight, to be exact. "My name is Alex. I'm a core-worlder, sorry if I seem a bit.... off. I'm just not used to being around so many people from Mandalore. Hard to get used to."
[21:38] Arman T'ad (arcenregulus) nods "ret, vode." he said politely before heading off to crash oocly into his bed.
[21:38] Door whispers: Security Check Clear
[21:39] Nicci Sularen eyed the man in armor curiously, "How did oyu earn your armor if not used to being around those who are Mandalorian?" she asked curiously, nodding to Armon as he departed.
[21:44] Alex Sharp sets down the case of not-really-crackers and lifts an arm, staring down at the polished and scarless metal before brushing at it lightly to remove a bit of grime. He hated grime. "Not all mandalorians are from Mandalore. Families and clans grow, some settle elsewhere. I'm from Coruscant; my father taught me. This is...or, was... his armor. Being as he's.... sorry, I have some meat in here if you want to have a look?" The sudden subject change suggests that his father may be a sore topic.
[21:48] Nicci Sularen shrugs, "I am not from Mandalore either, and was born to parents who were murdered by Sith but were mandalorians. Still had to earn mine." she replied, wincing at all the things she had had to do and how many times she had gotten the shit kicked out of her to do them. "Erm, I'm good thanks. It is a bit late here, ate hours ago."
.
[21:53] Alex Sharp shrugs and starts to wrap up his things again. "Well, it was worth asking..."
[21:56] Nicci Sularen forced a smile. She was not good at this polite shit, though she was trying her best, "Um, thanks for offering...though..I think..." that was what one was supposed to say right? She cracked her neck and brushed a strand of red hair from her face, grumbling, "So what brings you to Onderon?"
[22:04] Alex Sharp has trouble retying the knot he had placed in the bag originally, and so ties a much more ridiculous knot in the process in trying to match it. "Well, I'm here to learn. Techniques, tech, anything I can. Working on a project back home, and I like putting the primitive....uh, no offense... stuff to use." He shrugs.
[22:05] Alex Sharp: "Not to say," he interjects then. "that...uh, you're primitive or anything. I'm just.... well, I like upgrading. Enhancing."
[22:07] Nicci Sularen raised an eyebrow, "Why would I be offended...I'm not from here. I just am here because the Mandalore trained me and...well...I do not exactly have a ship that I can easily come and go places when I please. Nor do I have very many credits to hire transport out either. So I just sorta hang here."
[22:14] Alex Sharp finally finishes with his bag of ridiculous items that might not really be food and sets it on the floor, leaning forwards against the table to peer across it at the woman. Were he to be honest with himself, he'd say she was fairly attractive. He'd probably try flirting with her were it not for the fact that she were also a mandalorian, fully armored, and she could well be the heartbreaker type. Oh well. "If you really need to get somewhere, I could help you out. Assuming you could do me a favor?"
[22:19] Nicci Sularen raised an eyebrow. Men who asked for favors were men to be watched. "Help me out how? I need my own ship, not a taxi driver who might be unavailable when the need arises. And what favor?" she asked.
[22:27] Alex Sharp placed both hands on the table and tapped it absentmindedly. "I'm looking for someone, an older man named Issac Sharp. Military guy. Just... let me know if you ever see him? You'll know; bald, thin white beard, green armor, but not beskar'gam."
[22:30] Nicci Sularen sincerely tried to recall if she had or not, and was silent a few moments, "Sorry I can't say I recall seeing such a person. Friend of yours?" she asked.
[22:35] Alex Sharp sighs heavily; another dead end. Or no end at all, as it seemed. "He's family. Missing for a year now, and the search isn't looking good. Coruscanti authorities have nothing." He stays silent for a minute or so and shrugs. "Sorry, personal endeavor, but thank you for trying. Tell you what... if you keep an eye out, I'll look into your ship issue, miss...?" he paused, waiting for the name.
[22:43] Nicci Sularen tilted her head to study him. She saw no harm in granting him her name. "Nicci Sularen Ordo," she replied, "And yours?" she'd ask.
[22:47] Alex Sharp nods towards her. "Alexander Sharp. I'll see if there's anything to be done about your lack of a ship. I don't exactly have any laying around at the moment," he trails off sharply and then pauses before continuing. "Well alright, I do, but they're in no shape to enter orbit. But I'll see."
.
[22:52] Nicci Sularen nodded. She didn't reallit believe this man would give her a ship, but then again she didn't believe anyone about anything. That was probably how she had stayed alive for as long as she had given the predicaments she had been in. "I appreciate the effort," she replied anyway, making an effort to be polite.
.
[23:02] Alex Sharp was not going to brag to anyone about having what he didn't; he didn't have a ship ready for anything other than his own, and he didn't plan to give his own transportation to someone who was a stranger. But he could make some calls and see about the company scrapyard being picked at. Maybe he could find some way for the young lady to get herself to and from home and work, as it were, but he couldn't promise it'd turn up anything. "I can't guarantee I'll find anything," he says, along those lines. "But you wouldn't believe the stuff big corporations just toss out. If I get word of a ship that needs an owner, I'll find you. So long as you come find me if you ever meet Issac Sharp. Sound fair?"
[23:05] Nicci Sularen nodded again, "Old man in green armor. Yep sounds fair to me." she agreed. "I really don't expect anyone just to throw out a working ship. Seems it would be more profitable to sell it."
[23:08] Alex Sharp shrugs. "It's how my company gets most of our materials; big companies don't like dealing with complexity, they like simple solutions. If a ship has too many problems, they'll just scrap it rather than pay all the expense to fix things. Cheaper. But when it's at the scrapyard already...." the man straightens up and gestures around an imaginary junk heap as though it were on all sides. "....well, the parts you need are everywhere. When we find big stuff, we fix it and sell it ourselves. Maybe there's a ship with your name on it?"
[23:12] Nicci Sularen nodded sleepily, "Maybe. Then I would just have to learn how to fly the kriffing thing and not crash it into the surface of Dxun." she smirked.
[23:18] Alex Sharp shrugs again. "Well, I'm a terrible pilot myself, but there can't be a shortage of teachers in your clan," he suggests. Ordo was a pretty big name, that's for sure. He reaches down to grab up his bag of things. "Speaking of which, I should go check on my ship and make sure it's still there. You're welcome to join me, but... maybe you're better off resting?"
[23:27] Nicci Sularen yawned yet again. This would sound like some sort of trap coming from most. But she was more than confident if he tried to kidnap her and sell her off as some slave she could remove his head, so she figured why the hell not.. "Eh, I don't rest until I pass out. I will go, though not sure why you'd want me to."
[23:52] Alex Sharp lead the way out of the building and across the city towards the spaceport, which sadly saw fewer ships than it could have been seeing with all of the strict regulation. In particular the ship he approached was one fairly close, a dusty and worn but operable corvette that looked Correlian in origin, though with obvious mismatching and modification. "I don't trust docking areas. Just a habit. But I see Sollie is still here," he says, somewhat to himself. he glances over his shoulder towards her. "She's actually one of those ships that was thrown out, though you can't tell by looking. Well, maybe. Like I said, people thrown out the strangest things..."
[23:57] Nicci Sularen raised an eyebrow as she looked over the ship. To her, who had had so few credits all her life, this seemed an incredible waste to be thrown out, beyond her comprehension even. "strage." she said quietly.
[00:05] Monk Tomorrow entered the region (2274.31 m).
[00:07] Alex Sharp took his time walking along the length of the ship, making sure no one was hiding around a landing strut looking to ambush him. Even with all of his armor and weaponry, he was cautious of these kinds of things; something anyone from Coruscant grew up with. Up close it seemed more obvious why the ship was a throwaway... the hull was pitted and pocked from where it had traveled without deflectors, showed signed of plating replacement and even a bit of blaster-scoring, with signs of leaking coolant further back on the ship in a bright green puddle only a couple inches across, but that a cleaning droid was having little luck with. "So," interjects the man as he reaches the boarding ramp in the middle of the ship. "What do you do, exactly, Miss? From what I've heard, few people in the clans are employed these days, with all this warfare."
[00:09] Nicci Sularen observed him looking over the ship with a mild curiousity. Once he reached the ramp she mvoed to follow, assuming that was his intent for her, "Ah...I play pazzak and drink...and kill things." she replied
[00:10] Nicci Sularen Ordo (suraya.scribe): moved*))
[00:16] Alex Sharp had figured that she wasn't exactly the womanly type, but the more he spent time around his more traditional brethren the more he just didn't understand them. "Hard to earn credits doing those things, miss," he says. "If you don't mind me asking you, how old are you?"
[00:20] Nicci Sularen grunted, "One doesn't exactly learn a skill when tortured and experimented on by the Sith all one's life," she replied back harshly, "And 19...why?" she asked, eying him suspiciously.
[00:28] Alex Sharp raised his hands defensively. "Sorry, sorry, no offense meant," he says, trying to calm her down. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. But I asked because I was curious. My visor estimated your age to be twenty, and I wanted to make sure it was accurate." Of course, this wasn't entirely true; his visor actually showed her age to be estimated at twenty-six because of the stress markings from expression on her face, he just didn't want to seem rude. "I'm twenty-two myself. I have my older sister to thank for getting me where I am now, but now I'm on my own. But everyone needs credits. And you could learn a skill now that you're free, correct?"
[00:34] Nicci Sularen shrugged, "I could, though I havent had much time to." she replied, still narrowing her eyes at him, "For now I use what I got to get by and survive."
[00:37] Alex Sharp remains quiet for a moment, taking the glare she gave for a bit before raising his hands again. "What? Did I do something wrong?"
[00:40] Nicci Sularen just looked at him with the same look, not really understanding. This was how she always was with people, "I don't know, did you?"
[00:44] Alex Sharp didn't really know how to respond, being as he thought she was disappointed in him for something. "Normally when someone narrows their eyes at me like that, it means I've said something offensive..."
[00:46] Nicci Sularen smirked at him, mildly amused, :If you had said something offensive, I probably would have ran you through a while ago." She winked.
[00:54] Alex Sharp isn't sure he likes the idea of being run through, being as that was fairly low on his list of things he wanted done to him in a day. But at least he hadn't been, and he didn't seem to have found some way to be offensive to the young woman. The wink was also promising. "Good; I would rather not go offending anyone today. Especially not you, Miss Sularen." He clears his throat. "What I mean to say is, you seem capable of fending for yourself rather well. I just think if you found something to do that would output some credits, you could maybe buy a ship that wasn't....well, literally picked from a scrapheap. Could try modelling? Several-hundred credits for your picture with a tube of toothpaste? Not fun work, but well-paying, so I hear."
[00:56] Nicci Sularen looked at him curiously again, "Modelling? You mean like, things out of clay? I didn't really fancy myself the artistic type..."she trailed off. She had no clue what that even was. The very idea anyone would show off their body as a profession didn't even register on the scales of her realm of possibilities.
[01:02] Alex Sharp could tell now that the woman wasn't precisely the most worldly-knowledgeable of people. But such was the case of a lot of people who lived int he very highest levels of Coruscant; oblivious to the world. "Well, not artistic things," he tries to explain. "...though those things can pay pretty well, too. I mean like..." he thinks for a moment. "Say a company wants to sell a hair product to people. They can't easily just tell people to buy it, they have to prove it works somehow. So they hire someone with nice hair to hold a bottle of their product.... and have their image taken and used as an advertisement. It's not always true, but that's advertising for you. The people who get paid hundreds of credits to literally stand there and hold something and smile? Those are models." He shrugs, smiling under the helmet. "Not very fun work, but it isn't hard and it doesn't take skill. If you want spare credits to spend on things, maybe look into it?"
[01:05] Nicci Sularen just stared at him blankly, none of this was registering. She was definitely more book smart than she was worldly experience smart. Hair products? Why would anyone need a product for hair? Why would anyone get paid to smile? What POSSIBLE use was that? She just nodded politely at him, now thinking he must have lost his mind. With a raised eyebrow, she merely said ,"Right...uh...I will...keep that...in mind?"
[01:11] Alex Sharp could tell that he wasn't getting anywhere by trying to explain it, even when he tried going to great lengths to do so, but oh well. He could at least try putting it more bluntly and less accurately. "Okay, look at it this way... as ridiculous as it sounds, people do get paid to stand in one spot and smile. The why doesn't matter much, so long as they look good while doing it. Honestly.... doesn't make much sense to me, either. But it happens, it works, and well...." he brushed at his helmet a bit, thinking he was a bit stupid to be going this far, but it might help her understand. "... well, you look nice enough to do that kind of job. Trust me, it doesn't have to make sense."
.
[01:12] Nicci Sularen just blinked at him, "Ah, well I don't really smile...that often..." she replied.
[01:19] Alex Sharp sighs and dismissively waves about the idea. "Well, nevermind... just a thought. In any case, I need to check up on things inside and head to bed. I suppose I'll be seeing you around, Miss Sularen?"
[01:22] Nicci Sularen grunted, "My last name isn't Sularen, it is Ordo. But yes I suspect you will. Good night Sharp," she replied, addressing him even more formally as if he were in the military by his last name, before turning to head off.
